This is the notarization of a document in Colombia, by the consular delegation of the country in which the document is to take effect.
Note: The document must have already been legalized, depending on the following procedures:
Procedure for the legalization of documents
a) Endorse the document with the corresponding Colombian body.
b) Send the document to Colombia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
c) Take the legalized documents to the consulate of the destination country.
d) Complete the chain of legalization in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or whichever body acts in its stead in the destination country.
a) Endorse the document with the foreign body in order to certify it.
b) Take the document to the Ministry of Foreign Relations, or whichever body acts in its stead in the country of origin.
c) Take the document to the Colombian consulate in the country of origin to authenticate the signature of the public official from the Ministry of Foreign Relations, or whichever body acts in its stead.
d) Complete the chain of legalization in Colombia’s Ministry of Foreign Relations in order to certify the signature of the Colombian consul.
